The 81st Belfast Scout Group has been linked to Saint Bartholomew’s since 1953 and is open to all members of the local community. The 81st Belfast Scout Group and Stranmillis Explorer Unit offer young people aged from 4 to 18 years weekly programmes and adventurous outdoor activities to help them grow physically, intellectually, socially, spiritually and emotionally. Around 10 members enjoy team-building activities, scout skills and badgework along with weekend camps and special events at Group, District and Northern Ireland level.
Activities are led by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of adult volunteers who are committed to making a difference in the lives of young people and supporting them in gaining skills for life. An important part of this is our community impact projects, such as a monthly Trolley-Fill for the local FoodBank and visiting the residents of supported housing for people living with Dementia
Scouting offers young people and adults the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and attend international experiences.
